NYU Certified Coach and Trainer Robin Schwartz (Robin the Math Lady) has been coaching and teaching Math and technology to diverse audiences for her entire career. While many will not become engineers, scientists or accountants, the study of Math is an important endeavor that strengthens the mind and builds character.
After working on Wall Street as a portfolio manager and financial/computer trainer as well as spending 6 years in the high-tech field of electronics, Robin Schwartz (MBA, BSEE) went back to her first love -- Math. Math Confidence was founded in 2000 after the birth of her sons -- Jake (1997) and Steven (1999).
Math Confidence has been helping people achieve their potential through a process that has been developed over the last two decades. Professor Robin Schwartz has inspired and motivated others throughout her career toward higher technical knowledge and comfort.
Her program, Math Confidence, offers personal and professional development through one-on-one coaching and/or group workshops for the understanding, enjoyment and learning of Math. These success principles can be applied to achieve goals in other areas such as fitness and business.
Prof. Schwartz is a frequent speaker and writer focusing on success, motivation and goals. Her monthly newsletter, Build Math Confidence, is a Constant Contact All Star award winner. She has been an adjunct professor at the College of Mount Saint Vincent of Math and Business and Education since 2002, is a Conference Coordinator for ATMNYC (the Association of Teachers of Math of New York City) and successfully combines her flexible business schedule with raising her family.

Mentoring: Inspiring and Encouraging Others
Entrepreneurship
Math Confidence is an example of creativity in combining career and family while enjoying one's work. Math Confidence's Robin Schwartz has served on panels on Entrepreneurship including Harvard University Women in Business, Forte Foundation Scholar Symposium and NYU's Stern Women in Business. She is delighted to serve as a judge for the annual Business Plan Competition at the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
Engineering Your Future
Prof. Schwartz has addressed students at Manhattan College who are considering engineering as a career and highlights not only the strong critical thinking foundation that engineering school builds (and the dynamic job opportunities) but the payoff of working hard and getting used to making mistakes. Employers (including financial services firms and departments) hire engineers for their Math and technical abilities including persistence, humility, teamwork and frustration tolerance. This enables people to optimize their potential and gain financial independence.
